Adobe was the first company to market Photoshop as a closed system, requiring users to buy upgrades and new computers and hardware to use the software. Its price for graphics professionals climbed quickly and has now become a bit of an industry joke. In recent years, Adobe has opened the system to the public and now offers monthly fees for use. The company runs an online photography and video school that offers Photoshop tutorials.
Quality prints are a great way to get the most out of a favorite photograph, and good print options are now more accessible than they have ever been. The Internet and print sources like Walmart, Sam’s Club, and even Amazon.com make quality photographic prints for a decent price relatively easy to find.
While you can take digital photographs directly to a commercial printer, the cost can be prohibitive and may not be worth it for an amateur. Digital cameras like the DSC series make it easier to turn an image into one that a service provider can print to high quality, and they also save you time in having to crop and retouch an image.
Photographs purchased digitally are already professionally cropped and retouched, so you don’t have to worry about it. But printing a photo allows you to make a photo your own if you need to. If you like the way a photo was taken but want to change the details, the way it was edited, or even the subject matter, you can print it from the computer in a quality photo printer.
How do you know if a photo printer is good? You can shop online for the printer you’re looking for and then take the printed test page you get at the office photocopy machine to see how the final print looks. Look for print quality, ink, and duplexing options. Try a few of the most popular brands like Canon, Epson, Xerox, and HP.
You may be able to rent a photo printer and an inkjet cartridge for a couple of days and test it. You can even go to a photo printer shop and try out different inkjet cartridges and ink, and take your favorite photo printed and printed back up on a piece of paper.
Most inkjet printers shoot full-page prints in less than 20 minutes. You can either print to an inkjet photo paper or stick it on a wall.
Photographs don’t take up a lot of room in a memory card and cost pennies to produce, so it’s easy to start a photography business by simply making
If you are a beginner and want to get started on Photoshop and you’ve already completed the starter course you can skip to the second course, but if you’re a complete beginner, you need to start from the beginning. I have broken the course into 2 parts so you can have a goal to work toward and focus on the small bits that are keeping you stuck.
When it comes to teaching Photoshop this way, it’s important to make sure the learner is successful first and understand all the concepts before moving on to the next. What I have done is broken the course up into smaller units so the learner can focus and succeed first before moving on to the next concept.
When it comes to teaching Photoshop you need to know where you are before you start moving forward. The basic concepts of Photoshop are very easy to understand, but having the tools available and the knowledge of where you are in the toolbox will be useful once you start understanding things.
Part 1: The Fundamentals of Photoshop
Looking at the course outline I can tell that we are going to focus on the basics with this section. The tools and the functions of the tools will be covered in detail and we will be looking at the shortcut keys that are useful and how to get familiar with them. By the end of this section you will understand what Photoshop is and how to use it. You won’t be aware of the features of Photoshop, but you will know what Photoshop is and how to use it.
In this section we will be looking at the following topics:
1. Basic Concepts of Photoshop
2. The Photoshop Toolbox
3. Photoshop’s History
4. How to do an Edit
5. How to do a Select and Move tool
6. Shortcut keys
7. The Layers Panel
8. The History Panel
9. Saving your work
10. Types of editing
11. A look at shortcuts you may need to know.
1. Basic Concepts of Photoshop
Welcome to Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop is an excellent tool for graphic and web design. Photoshop is one of the most powerful graphic design tools available and it is becoming more and more popular every day.
We are going to cover the basic concepts of Photoshop, the basics of the toolbox and learn shortcuts. If you are completely new to Photoshop then this is the first section you should watch.
All posts for the month February, 2015
Today’s post is very rare as it is a re-blog of a video I made for my local radio station about the school that I attended as a kid. My parents had a son and two daughters and once the son had been schooled my parents had decided that I would attend the school for the second round. At the time the school was a girls only school and there was a dance for the girls to have one day a week. All students were required to wear a uniform consisting of slacks and a top. The uniform was of a green material. I’m sure most of you can remember the inane energy this uniform induced, it was the 1970’s and you can imagine. During the dance, a large panel of teenage girls marched past me as my lip curling countenance, made to match the green uniform, stared behind them. They swarmed to the bar and the music stopped. I was asked to dance. The music started again and the girls formed a line and proceeded to do the boogie woogie and the boogaloo. The dance went on for a little while longer as I stood there. I was totally confused. I was embarrassed to be seen standing there, watching this. I do not remember what I did or if I danced but I do know that the next day I got a call from the principal asking if I was alright, if there was anything wrong. I said no nothing. The next day I walked past the school and this time was asked by the same girls to join them. I joined in and was asked to go up and introduce myself. My parents were told and they were worried that it would be very embarrassing to have a 14 year old boy explain why he was choosing to go to a girls school instead of the boys school. So they got me a new outfit. I was not required to wear the new uniform, but I could wear the dungarees on my way home from school. This was the beginning of my freshman year and I never wanted to leave that school. My 2 girlfriends and I went through some very dark times. Many weekends we would go to movies like Saturday Night Fever and Midnight Rambler and get very drunk. We also had a great teacher. He let me read my favorite storybook every Saturday and Sunday and I remembered it all my life. Without him, I would not have had a true love of writing. An for the first time
