Adobe Photoshop has an extensive system of Photoshop plugins, or plug-ins, which offer a host of additional features. Each of the plug-ins is a plug-in for one specific purpose, such as creating a lower-cost plug-in for a free product or improving the product itself. Many are extremely useful, but some really do add a lot of clutter to Photoshop. For some fine-tune every detail and pamper yourself, use the Elements plugins.
Plugins are divided into three categories:
The following are some of Photoshop’s best plugins. The best plugin for a particular function will be the one that is most often used.
I’ve selected the best plugins in the two categories: General plugins and Layer plugins.
Best Photoshop plugins
GIMP is by far the most popular free open-source photo editor available. It’s just the right balance of control and ease of use. Its main downside is its lack of support for modern editing techniques, but if you’re a beginner looking to get started, or if you’re just passionate about what you do, GIMP will be all you need.
SketchFX is a powerful free plugin that offers a very similar feature set to Photoshop’s pen tool. This plugin has over 200 brushes, textures, and vectors.
SketchFX provides a simple interface, making it easy to work with these assets. After installation, simply click and drag the tool where you want it to be or click and drag from the menu bar.
SketchFX has many other features, such as: layer masking, crop, perspective control, desaturation, and adjustment layers.
The interface is pretty straight-forward, though it’s not too intuitive. For example, I had a hard time understanding where the tool was on the menu.
Being a free plugin, SketchFX does have limits. There’s no file import, no undo or redo, and no direct export to other software, and it can’t handle all Photoshop plugins. However, SketchFX has a massive library of assets, and it’s an excellent way to start learning Photoshop brushes.
This isn’t a straight-forward plugin, but it is a must have if you’re looking for a clean image editing tool that you don’t have to learn.
iPad screenshots, photos, and slideshows all look better using PhotoScreener, which is one of Photoshop’s best plugins. PhotoScreener is a screenshot plugin for the iPad and it works with all versions of Photoshop.
It comes with a live preview feature that’s always visible in the bottom right corner of the screen. You can change the display and even zoom in/out with your finger.
It’s a Photoshop plugin, which means you get full access to
Spatial Vision is a powerful library for executing segmentations algorithms over [shortlists](../Tracking.md#shortlists) of objects. It also offers powerful methods to change the API and provide a flexible implementation for complex algorithms.

The Confederate Vigil, also known as Confederate Patriotic Salutes, is an ongoing American tradition in which a large group of people gather in an outdoor spot (usually a tall, otherwise unused man-made structure) to salute the American flag and listen to a military band. It is held on Veterans Day in many cities in the United States.
Confederate patriotic salutes began after the American Civil War when Union soldiers returned home to find their cities in ruins. They were told that the reason for the war was a disagreement over slavery and that the South was a true and noble nation; they wanted to enjoy peace and honor this newfound nation. Communities began to hold military and civilian parades to commemorate the war and the soldiers who had died. The first military parade in the United States was held by General William T. Sherman’s troops in New York City in 1866. In the same year, the first “patriotic salute” was performed in Washington, D.C., in celebration of the end of the war. After that, these salutes grew in popularity among civilians and were often held on Veterans Day (November 11).
Today, salutes are held on Veterans Day in many communities, often attracting large crowds. The exact time, date, location and number of participating salutes vary by location. In some cases, the National Guard may be called into service to provide military backup.
