Bringing images into Photoshop
Whether you’re using the desktop version or the online version of Photoshop, bringing images into the program is the first step in working with them. The process is the same for both, but this section explains the steps for the desktop version.
To access the desktop version of Photoshop, follow these steps:
1. **Ensure that the image is open for editing. (In Windows, press the Print Screen button on the keyboard and save the image to your desktop.)**
2. **Double-click the image in the Layers panel to open it up (see Figure17-1).**
Because Photoshop may prompt you to save the file first, it may appear in a different location in the program than the location you saved it in.
3. **With the Layers panel still selected, right-click the layers that you want to modify (Figure17-2) and select Duplicate from the

An Edmonton man has been charged with a slew of crimes after a police investigation started after the discovery of graffiti in Sherwood Park.
The graffiti targeted the LGBTQ community and promoted pedophilia, according to an Alberta Justice spokesperson.
Police said the graffiti was discovered Sunday morning, after several people reported seeing the messages while on their way to work.
On Thursday, Edmonton police executed a search warrant at an apartment on the 4500 block of 157 Street.
The suspect, a 27-year-old man from Sherwood Park, was arrested and charged with criminal harassment, producing child pornography, uttering threats, mischief, mischief endangering property, and five counts of breaching conditions.
Investigators believe there may be other suspects out there who are committing similar crimes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Edmonton police. This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This project focuses on creating an organism that can produce all of the amino acids and proteins that comprise the extracellular matrix (ECM) found in all multicellular eukaryotes. While plants have been successfully used to produce important proteins, a number of problems exist that we hope to overcome with the use of the mitochondrion-encoded genes as a novel regulatory system. First, unlike bacteria, which have their own m-genes, mitochondria have a completely different set of m-genes, and this additional source of genetic regulation may make m-genes more tightly controlled. Additionally, the mitochondrion-encoded genes required for a particular function are present in vastly greater amounts per cell than m-genes in the nucleus. Consequently, an organism with a single m-gene could produce the necessary protein at a rate equal to most, if not all other organisms. Finally, mitochondria produce both ATP and the building blocks needed for protein synthesis, which makes it easier to combine the protein synthesis functions to produce proteins. With the use of nuclear-encoded genes, some of the problems of tetracycline resistance and low-level expression are eliminated.National Theatre
