I am currently working on the data manipulation portion of an assignment. I am trying to convert a string to an integer using the following code:

I’m unsure as to why the code fails to work as I expected it to. I have tried different types of conversion with no success. I assume that I am either overthinking the process or simply not understanding how to convert a string to an integer.
