An upgrade like this doesn’t really bring any new features on top with the job of porting a layer composition from e.g. Photoshop to Elements. What’s this Image Shopping Cart that’s on the web site for Elements? And what’s this View Image ? Well, I can’t say I understand much about it fully. But I can tell you all kind of things that I don’t understand. If someone would please help me sort this out, I’d really appreciate it. Especially since I’m not that “computer savvy” as much, as I would like to be.

and then there’s the fact that the OS X Lion upgrade has removed Adobe’s optional/recommended discrete video filters (Holland, Violet, and IVEON). It’s that which has been sending a dark cloud over the skies of Elements. You would naturally expect Elements to emulate that feature in some way. But alas, that doesn’t seem to be happening in Elements 11. Still, with both plugins and Elements 11, you can use any video filter to convert, resize, and alter the colors in your Elements image at any time. But if you do, you are bound to AE’s convenient nondestructive filter attributes. This way, you basically activate AE’s video filter (and are thus not in control of this process). To use any of the discrete filter plugins in Elements, you simply convert your file to the custom File format, next import the PNG image, and then import the video filter. For most people, this process shouldn’t prove to be a problem. But if you want to control the post-processing, as you would like to do with this tool, the process is quite a pain. In fact, I believe that rather than assessing how popular this tool will be, it is more important to assess how popular the video filters will be. People want to be able to use an app for every function they like. But that’s not the case with Elements. At least not yet. (I don’t like to write negative reviews, I always try to make things positive.)

If you’ve ever used a desktop app, you’ve probably seen features that work similarly to this. You’ll see a similar setup in the web client, but slightly different tools and features. For example, instead of accessing the brushes resource directly in the browser, the ressource manager allows you to edit and access brushes in a more visual way.

One of the most powerful features in Photoshop is the ability to layer multiple images and text together to create custom designs. With layers, you can combine text and images before adding effects, filters, patterns, and other effects, such as shadows and reflections.

Adobe Photoshop has more than a dozen different tools for designing and editing. On this list, we’ve listed the tools you’ll use the most and the one that’s most relevant for designing in the browser. As it’s impossible to cover everything, we’ve limited this list to 12 tools.

The list is ordered by those used most to less used. Some tools do overlap others, so feel free to experiment with more of the ones that interest you!

Among the tools on the left, there are links to be able to take you directly to that product in web apps. Check out the resources to learn more about each specific tool.
