Why do you need Photoshop?
Today, Photoshop is used for editing and manipulating photographs, designing logos and ads, and creating textures and other image effects that can be found in real-world items such as clothing, cell phones, computers, video games, and more.
Photoshop is essential for anyone who wants to create professional-quality digital photos, and it’s a powerful tool for anyone with a passion for creating original art and design.
What’s the Difference Between a Retouch and a Photoshop?
Retouching means making editing or editing a digital image smaller, bringing out details, or altering it to remove blemishes. Removing unwanted objects is usually done with a retouching application. Adding new objects, such as text or other graphics, is typically done with a Photoshop or other application.
Photoshop has more features than a retouching program. It also enables the creation of more complex images, such as seamless textures. It also has many other advanced features that retouching programs don’t have. It’s for use when you’re creating original images. The extra tools make it a perfect all-in-one tool that enables you to create incredibly realistic textures that you can’t create with a retouching program.
Adobe Photoshop from Adobe Systems is the most widely used program for digital photography and retouching. It is a full suite of tools for a variety of image editing tasks, such as arranging, retouching, compositing, and creating textures.
It used to be that you needed Photoshop if you wanted to use advanced elements that go beyond what a retouching program can do. However, there are now plenty of Photoshop alternatives, such as Photoshop Elements, that work like Photoshop as well as offer much of the same functionality.
What makes Photoshop Special?
When Photoshop was created, it was an easy, quick, and inexpensive way to add photo effects to your photos.
Years later, Photoshop has turned into a full-fledged image editing suite with capabilities that no other program has.
If you’ve ever used the editing tools, you might be familiar with the various brushes that it comes with. You can use them to blend images together, smooth images, bring out details, or add drop shadows.
What is Lightroom?
Lightroom is a way to organize your photos and edit them with the tools you already have on your computer. It helps you work with a number of
One of the most useful features in Adobe Photoshop Elements is the ability to crop an image like a window with a border or without. This is done through the Crop Tool. This tool will crop the image based on any of the four corners, the center, or the whitespace around the perimeter.
Steps for Cropping an Image
After opening an image and choosing the Crop Tool, Photoshop Elements will let you select the area around the image that you wish to crop out.
Like most tools in Photoshop, there are five different ways to crop an image. You can select the Crop Tool, or directly click the four buttons located in the top right corner of the image.
However you choose to crop, three important things need to be remembered. The first is that you can only crop from the original size of the image, and you cannot crop while the image is in the photo library. The second is that you have to actively select the cropped area before you can crop it. If you accidentally click to crop the wrong area of the image, you will destroy the original image. Finally, you must remember to save the new image. If you do not save the new image, you will lose all the changes you made to the original image.
Crop from the Original Size
When you first open the Crop Tool, Photoshop Elements displays the Rectangular Marquee Tool with a colored border at the bottom.
To crop from the original image, use the Crop Tool and click either of the four buttons. (See the Cropping and Resizing Images section for a short list of all the tool’s different uses.)
By default, Photoshop Elements only allows you to crop the top left corner of the image. To change this, click Edit in the top left corner of the Crop Tool.
In the new window, you will see a list of all the corners of the image. If you want to change the size of the cropping area, click and drag one of the corners.
The default cropping area is 2.5×2.5 inches. To change the size of the cropping area, drag the bottom corner of the square or use the horizontal and vertical grips. You can resize the entire image or crop it to any size you want.
To crop the image without using the Crop Tool, click the Crop button in the top right of the Crop Tool window, and drag the desired corners of

Some schools are doing a worse job than others in helping students reach their potential, according to a new league table published by the Social Mobility and Child Poverty Commission.
Researchers looked at more than 20,000 secondary school students across England and Wales to see how they perform.
The findings show that the gap between the best and worst performing schools – in terms of students gaining five or more good GCSEs including maths and English – widened between 2015 and 2016.
The higher-performing students were more likely to be white, coming from the most affluent backgrounds and eligible for free school meals.
They also achieved higher exam results at the age of 15.
This, the commission says, makes them more likely to graduate with good qualifications and more likely to attend university.
However the proportion of students reaching this benchmark from the lowest performing schools remained essentially unchanged between 2015 and 2016.
Polly Neate, the commission’s chief executive, said: “This is a truly damning indictment of our education system and another example of why young people from the most disadvantaged backgrounds are falling behind in school and getting worse qualifications.”
She added: “If we are to improve social mobility we have to acknowledge that making progress will always involve addressing inequality.
“By doing better for those coming from poorer backgrounds we can help reduce inequality which we know is linked to lower performance.
“At the moment, we are missing the boat.”
She said the gap between schools performing best and those that do the worst is “alarming” and that schools in the bottom 5% are “blaming their failures on the size of the intake”.
She said the government’s recent decision to guarantee free school meals for all primary school children – along with the news that free school meals are also being extended to all secondary school pupils from October – was a “massive” step in the right direction.
“Introducing free school meals meant that more children were likely to eat better and have a more nutritious diet,” she said.
“Free school meals are helping to close the gap between the richest and poorest families in society.”
Lucy Powell, the shadow education secretary, said: “It is beyond a joke that the government has opted to use the upcoming GCSEs results to introduce a new confusing bursary system that will penalise schools for helping the most disadvantaged students.
