Choosing your version of Photoshop
Like most of the other photo-editing programs available, Photoshop is available in three main versions: Photoshop CS, Photoshop Elements, and Photoshop. Although you can use all three versions of Photoshop, you must have the most current version of the software to see the most recent features. For example, if you have Photoshop CS5, you can use Elements and Photoshop for comparative purposes or you can use Photoshop CS6 for a slightly higher performance level. If you want to use the latest features, you must upgrade to the latest version of the software. I recommend upgrading to the latest version, but if you’re a novice, it may be useful to begin with an older version for a more gentle introduction to the program and a less intimidating environment.
This guide will walk you through the basics of Photoshop Elements that will help you get up and running. We are going to cover everything from learning the interface to creating a simple, high quality image. We are not going to focus on image manipulation, instead we will be focusing on getting the most out of Elements.
Creating a Document
The very first thing you should do in Photoshop Elements is create a document. Creating a new document in Elements is very similar to creating a new document in Photoshop. You use the same commands to make a new document. Once you have a document open, you can resize it as you desire.
Open Photoshop Elements 11 from the start menu. Once opened, open a new document. Click on the new document icon. It looks like a folder with a grey plus sign.
Once your document opens, you can rename it and add any folders you want, such as your pictures, projects and documents. You can also select the orientation of the document. It can either be portrait or landscape. Portrait orientation puts the short edge of the image on the bottom of the canvas, while landscape orientation puts the long side of the image on the bottom of the canvas.
Selecting the correct orientation for a document is necessary in Elements because the Image Size area of the canvas takes up very little real estate. If you place your image in the wrong orientation, it will take up the entire canvas and won’t fit on your document. Let’s start by making a document in portrait orientation so that we can see how our image measures up to the Document Size before we change it.
When you have a blank document, the Width and Height buttons are at the bottom of the canvas, as seen below.
Once you’re done editing the document, click “Cancel” to save it, or click “Open.” Photoshop Elements will prompt you to save your new document. If you were to save the document, you would need to make sure you have enough disk space. Elements will tell you how much space you need. If it says, “Cannot save.” the likely cause is a lack of disk space. You can increase your hard drive’s storage space through either the recovery partition or third party solutions. If you don’t want to increase your drive’s capacity, go back to the previous step and try again.

Widespread reduction of c-myc gene expression and prolonged activation of the stress-response pathway in epithelial cells after exposure to genotoxic agents.
Cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of cells may be triggered by the stress response through a c-Myc-dependent pathway. However, little is known about how cells in situ respond to these stimuli in the context of a tissue. The induction of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in response to DNA damage is studied in epithelial cells of the murine lung using the non-small cell carcinoma cell line A/J (A/JK) following exposure to the DNA-damaging agent bleomycin. The effect of bleomycin was time dependent, with initial activation of the stress-response pathway occurring after 8 hr of exposure and progressive inhibition of c-Myc gene expression, which peaked at 24 hr after exposure. At 48 hr, there was widespread apoptosis in the lung epithelium and much of the residual c-myc expression was located in sites that were undergoing early stages of apoptosis. The results suggest that this pathway plays an important role in the initiation and progression of bleomycin-induced apoptosis and that its activity may be modulated by c-myc expression.1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates generally to earpieces of mobile telecommunication devices. More particularly, the invention relates to an earpiece having an illuminated graphic indicia thereon.
2. Description of Related Art
A number of innovations have been made in the field of mobile telecommunication devices, including cellular telephones. In the course of design and development of these devices, there has been considerable emphasis placed on safety, and both government and industry standards promulgated to insure that all such devices meet certain minimum safety standards.
One such safety standard is an eye protection requirement, which includes a “front face is/can be illuminated” requirement. In order to meet this requirement, it is necessary to have an eye protection assembly that is illuminated so that a user can view the indicia thereon. These eye protection assemblies are oftentimes mounted to the earpiece. These earpieces are formed of flexible plastic material, such as silicone.
Since these earpieces are intended to be worn on a user’s head, there are limits to the size and design of the earpiece. It is often the case that there is only sufficient room to incorporate the graphic indicia into a relatively small portion of the earpiece. It is also the case
